Committees

General Information

The board will be supporting a number of activities this year, and we are looking for volunteers to assist with various committees. If you are interested in volunteering to serve on any of these committees, please contact a Board Member or send a message to info@cbvolleyball.net. Please be sure to identify the committee(s) in which you would like serve.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee develops policies and procedures surrounding any auditing processes for the league. The committee is responsible for conducting financial and operations audits once yearly, as well as audits the results of the annual Board of Directors election. We are seeking interested members in helping us with these tasks. If you have an accounting or financial background all the better, but this is not required!

Boston Beantown Classic Tournament / Tournament Committee

By-Laws / Policies and Procedures Committee

The By-Law/Policies and Procedures Committee is responsible for developing the rules that govern every aspect of CBVA, Inc., from Sunday play to the behind-the-scenes management of the league, and all things in between. We are always interested in having volunteers serve to provide feedback on the practical impact of these rules, and to consider and propose new policies and changes to existing ones, to best address members' needs. We will meet on a few occasions during the season, but particularly in advance of the annual meeting.

Outdoor Play Committee

The Outdoor Committee is seeking volunteers to help organize and run outdoor sessions in the summer of 2010. We are looking for members who can help to ensure that the equipment is brought, set up, and taken down in a timely manner. The Outdoor Committee will meet several times prior to the beginning of outdoor play, most likely before or after regular indoor sessions. Membership participation is essential to the continuation of organized outdoor play.

Ratings Committee

The Ratings Committee is responsible for overseeing the rating process, including developing policies and procedures surrounding ratings, as well as conducting the ratings for all members. The committee this year would love to have some volunteers to help us revise our current process, including our ratings evaluation form and to gain input from members about the pros and cons of the current process.

Social Committee

The Social Committee is looking for volunteers to assist with socials events, including the Holiday Party, Race for the Tiara, and the End of the Year Party. The Race for the Tiara especially needs volunteers to organize and prepare for the event, as well as assist by working the door, facilitating food setup, managing the stage, assisting with publicity, programs and tickets, serving as judges, developing/designing awards, etc.
