Advanced and Intermediate Tryouts
Dates: TBD (likely 2 consencutive weeks in October)
The advanced and intermediate sessions require new players to either try out or be observed during play. Criteria for play in Intermediate and Advanced leagues can be found in the Ratings Form but as described above. Ratings for new players are completed the first day they participate, after self selecting which group to attend. If you are new and interested in either one of these sessions, just show up at the time listed above and speak with the person in charge of sign-in.
Skills Clinics
Dates: TBD
CBVA also offers clinics at various times during the for the three divisions. Clinics are generally offered on a separate court that does not interfere with pick-up play. The cost of attending clinics has traditionally been $10. If players attend a clinic and play in their regular pick-up play session the same day, that session has typically been only $3.
Mini Tournaments

The league has traditionally hosted a "Social" Tournament for players eager to get a taste for a competition in a one day "mini" format. This allows Rec and Intermediate members to compete without traveling and work on team development. Additionally a competitive one day tournament geared toward our Advanced and Intermdiate players and teams has been offered in some seasons based on interest level.
Dates: June-September
There are many places to play volleyball during the summer months. This year, CBVA has a permit with the City of Boston to play volleyball at Joe Moakley Park in South Boston. CBVA members of all levels combine to play outdoor 6's on grass courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM until dusk, and Sundays from 2:00 pm to dusk.
Outdoor play typically begins the first Sunday in June and typically ends the last Sunday in August.
