1. Clinic for 6-2, 5-1, and Passing

There will be a volleyball clinic on September 14, 2008 from 12.30 PM - 3.30 PM. The coach will be Chris Dupuis. He will be focusing on 6-2 and 5-1 rotations as well as passing. There will be a cap of 18 participants and preferences will be given to those players that will be trying out for Intermediate Division for the first time. People interested in participating must sign up via email to secretary@cbvolleyball.net no later than September 7, 2008. The cost will be $7 per participant and then $3 for each regular session played on that day.

2. Indoor Volleyball Season and Welcome Back Pizza Party

The 2008-2009 indoor volleyball season begins on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Amigos School at 100 Putnam Avenue in Cambridge, MA. There will be a Pizza Party to welcome back old friends and to greet new members. Pizzas will arrive at 2:45 PM and 5:30 PM. We ask that you arrive by the times listed below to register and have some pizza:

To expedite the registration process and to maintain a better record-keeping system, we request that all members register online at http://www.cbvolleyball.net/form.php. We kindly request that you print the form and bring it (and your CBVA membership and insurance fees -- see below) to your first day of play.

If you are forming a team for the Advanced Division, please remember to submit your completed roster via e-mail to secretary@cbvolleyball.net no later than September 21, 2008.

5. Ratings

Ratings for Advanced and Intermediate will take place on September 21st and September 28th. The ratings process is mandatory for anyone who would like to play in the Advanced and Intermediate divisions. You must attend both of these Sundays to be rated (unless otherwise instructed by the Ratings Group). Unrated members are permitted to play in the Advanced and Intermediate division until the end of ratings. For more information, please refer to the CBVA Ratings Guidelines and the CBVA Ratings Form.

6. Last Day for Outdoor Volleyball

The CBVA outdoor permit in the Fens expires on Thursday, September 4, 2008 and this will be our last day for outdoor play.

7. Memorial Fund for David Hildebrandt

David Hildebrandt, the former Newbury College volleyball coach who was to start coaching at Elms College this season, drowned Sunday near Albany, N.H., after he fell into the Swift River. He was 29.

A memorial fund for David has been set up for people to make donations to help defray funeral costs. You may send a check to:
