CBVA’s Early Access Policy

As part of our mission to prioritize inclusivity and ensure a supportive environment, CBVA has a policy that grants early access to certain registration opportunities (annual memberships, weekend indoor sessions, etc.) for specific cohorts of members.

These cohorts include:

  • Identifying as a member of the LGBTQ+ community (voluntarily disclosed by the member).
    • (see below to find out how to self-identify as LGBTQ+ for early access)
  • Significant, current volunteership with an organization that supports LGBTQ+ communities and causes (ex. These could include CBVA, Y2Y, Gay For Good, Fenway Health, AIDS Action, GLAD, MassEquality, etc).
    • We expect about 20 hours of volunteership a year to maintain Early Access.
    • Email community [at] cbvolleyball.net with the subject “Volunteering for Early Access” and include as much detail as possible about your recent LGBTQ+ volunteership in the email body.
  • Being a long-term CBVA member (at least four full seasons of membership).
    • Being a long-term CBVA member (members who joined for the full 2021-2022 season, and prior). No action is required on your part for Early Access to be added.

This policy is designed to strengthen the sense of community and provide opportunities for those who are historically underrepresented or who contribute to the growth and success of the league. We ask that members who do not qualify for early access respect this policy and recognize that it aligns with our core values of inclusivity and community-building. While we understand that some members may not fall within these cohorts, this policy is intended to benefit the league as a whole, ensuring an inclusive and thriving environment for everyone.

How to self-identify as LGBTQ+ for Early Access

To self-identify for Early Access, using the email address associated with your TeamArrange account, send an email to community [at] cbvolleyball.net with the subject line “LGBTQ+ self-identification for early access” and fill the rest of the email with as much or as little as you’d like describing what CBVA or your identity means to you.

We’ll take up to a week to enable the Early Access flag on your TeamArrange profile. (We try our best to make sure we’ve processed all of these requests before each Thursday session sign-up window)

To check whether CBVA Early Access is enabled for your TeamArrange profile, navigate to your TeamArrange Profile, then to the Groups tab, and then look for the green check mark under CBVA Early access.

If you’re otherwise sure you should qualify but cannot see the early access flag in your profile, please reach out to the same email so we may research your account. Similarly, if you are eligible due to significant volunteership, or wish to be connected with an organization, contact us!

Please note that it can take a week or more for us to respond to inquiries to this inbox!
